BREASTS
The technical name of this surgery is Reduction
Mastoplasty. It is indicated for women with breast hypertrophy.
The age recommended for performing this surgery is from
15 years old thereafter, when the breast reached its full
development. The surgery is done under local anesthesia
(in most of cases) and lasts for about two hours. After
the surgery, the patient remains in the clinic for an average
of 8 to 24 hours. The scar has the shape of an inverse “T”,
or an “L”, or an “I”. After a short
time, the scar has the aspect of a whitish line, very discrete.
For a pre-surgical preparation, lab exams and photographic
and radiographic files (mammography) are needed.
In the post-surgical period the bandage is kept for 24
hours and the use of a special bras is needed for two months
(day and night). Physical exercises are free after one month.
Although large breasts are in fashion, women with breast
hypertrophy (breasts larger than the normal size) are not
happy with their look. Because they suffer permanent problems
at their spines and, not rarely, they are constrained when
using bikinis or tight blouses exposing this part of their
body, reduction mastoplasty is the most sought by women,
against the idea that only who implants silicone prosthesis
seeks plastic surgery.
